Welcome Home - a piece of home
The challenge was to design a 4 ½ apartment with a standard interior fit-out for an expat family with two children into an extraordinary home with a warm feeling of space and plenty of storage space. The floor plan of the apartment offered ideal conditions for the new interior design concept. Well-thought-out fixtures and fittings enable flowing transitions between the
individual areas and rooms.
The continuous concept with built-in wardrobes made optimum use of every room for storing daytime clothes, shoes, household items, etc. Masterbedroom proportions were optimized and walls were opened up to
create an open space with a wardrobe, a small workstation and an adjoining bathroom.
By visually shifting the built-in units, an open kitchen with adjoining island and more space in the dining area were created to achieve a spacious ambience throughout the living area. Materials such as natural core walnut in a classic ribbed profile, dull matt lacquered surfaces and Calacatta marble and
custom-made golden handle strips were used consistently throughout the apartment. The earthy natural tones in the furnishings and textiles convey a sense of calm and security.
The overall interior design concept included the conversion planning, construction management, cost control, interior fittings, furniture design, wet rooms, kitchen, floor coverings, wood flooring, color advice, refurnishing, and
the installation of new furniture.
